Princess Al-Jawhara Center for Molecular Medicine of the University of the Arabian Gulf in cooperation with Genpharm conducted a lecture on the latest updates on Genetic Myopathies, the presence of more than 60 doctors, representing a group of hospitals and clinics in Bahrain.

The aim of the lecture was to inform Pediatricians, Neurologists, and Geneticists, on the scientific updates in this domain and to address the importance of early diagnosis of the disease in order to minimize complications and improve the quality of life of the patients.

Th geneticist at Al-Jawhara Center and assistant professor at the Arabian Gulf University, Dr. “Christina Scribenek” During the lecture, Spoke about how intensive clinical research in Muscular Dystrophy began to show a positive impact on the treatment of Muscular Dystrophy. Hence, two new medical drugs that received approval from international health authorities regulatory medicine in Europe and the United States, where these drugs have proven their ability to treat Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) directly, which gave great hope to patients and their families
